On behalf of Danny & Ginny, Luke & Andrew and the entire Fox and Griffin families, I would like to thank you all for participating in the Matthew D. Griffin Memorial Hockey Tournament and making the tournament a memorable day. Matt was certainly looking down on us this day.
Your support of and participation in this special event are sincerely appreciated. We hope you will join together with us to make this an annual event in the future.
There are so many people to thank that I know I will forget someone. Thank you to all our sponsors, the players, coaches and volunteers helping out throughout the day, we could not have had the success of this day without your help.
Thanks to those volunteering at the sign in table, the swag and raffle tables ( Janice Powers, Kathy Femia, Kathleen Potter, Marie Mitropoulos, Patrice Harris Jacqui Griffin, Maureen Griffin, Karen McLaughlin Griffin, Shane Bowen, Ava Zarella Sarah Potter, Karen, Kayla and Ashley Fitz).
Thanks the rink employees, the Elks lodge, the MC or comic relief depending how you look at it, Jimmy Carney. The local legend vocalist Debbie Shea who sang the National Anthem. She did a beautiful job!!
The referees, Kevin Vona, Eric Peary and Stephen Mansfield.
Our photographer Peggy Mitropoulos ( BTW check out the website to see her work), the scorekeepers, Griffin and Melissa Potter and to the musical director Brendan Griffin.
To all those that donated a raffle or silent auction item and/or walked the mean streets of Arlington to solicit raffles ( I will have to say there were some awesome raffles), thank you.
I am sure I am forgetting someone but thank you all!
Also, I would especially like to thank three people.
Paul Stanton at Sports Etc- Paul as most of you all know, is a special person. He is a giving person who doesn't look for recognition but deserves much of it. He does so many things for so many people. I am glad to call him a friend. Thank You Paul!
And to Katie Griffin and Michael Griffin. This event could not have gone as well as it did without the two of them.
Michael with his continuous FB updates and constant reminders to push me to do my part along with his no no-sense meetings and organizational skills( who knew Michael was organized?) I am so proud of him. And Katie, who spent endless hours organizing raffles and planning the set up of the tables. She had a vision of how the lobby should look and I don't know how but made it look awesome. I'm glad my baby brother had the good sense to pick her. Thanks Katie!!
See you all next year!!!
Thank you !!
